What we did
Closed the books on a calendar
A monthly close with a committed date, reconciled to the bank, so the numbers were the same whoever asked for them.
Built the driver-based model
Revenue by plan, headcount by team, and the runway view kept live. Three scenarios maintained month to month, not rebuilt for each question.
Sat in the board meeting
A board pack every month, and a CFO in the room for the questions behind the numbers.
The outcome
The close went from fifteen days to four. Runway is visible nineteen months out, and the model that went into the Series A data room was the one the company had been running on all year.
